Community OutReach and Engagement
CORE serves as the nexus between MWEB and the community in which it exists. While MWEB serves the federal government, particularly the United States Military, through CORE MWEB is able to serve the Kalamazoo community and it's residents. MWEB prioritizes increasing blind awareness, increasing access to services, and reducing the burden of basic needs.

Creating Community Awareness
White Cane 5K
Every year, since 2024, MWEB has hosted the Annual White Cane 5K to create community awareness and to celebrate White Cane Safety Day. The White Cane 5K is a celebration and recognition of White Cane Safety Day, which is October 15th annually. The 5K is meant to bring the community together in a fun and healthy way.
Community Impact
Warm Kids Project
MWEB assists Communities in Schools every year, on boxing day to help package gloves, hats, coats, and boots for children in the Kalamazoo County area. In 2025, the Warm Kids Project provided 1,745 coats, and 1,723 pairs of boots, "Keeping kids warm, one coat and two boots at a time."

Steptember
Every September MWEB laces up for a company wide walking challenge - where every step adds up and a little freindly competition keeps things moving.
And leading the pack in 2025... The Steptations!
Congratulations on stepping your way to the top!
